Definitely some mixed feelings about this place. Over time things have changed. The first glaring issue is the menu. It’s called the pickled wrinkle. That’s seafood. Aside from a specials board, there’s no fresh seafood on the menu. And the specials are things everyone has and not that special. It’s mostly pizza and burgers. They have a limited cocktail menu that doesn’t really excite people. We had to started getting creative ourselves and ask if they could put things they had together as a cocktail. Food itself was just ok. Not much that we ordered is anything we had to come there for. The pizza dough was thin a crispy but more like a cracker. The one thing that was absolutely amazing was the maple mustard which was a sweet brown mustard. The staff was nice and did their best with what they had. Unfortunately, my final assessment is it’s not worth it. They need to get out of that comfort level and take some chances. They have endless opportunities and it feels like they aren’t trying hard enough.
The Pickled Wrinkle offers a delightful culinary experience with their mouthwatering lobster rolls that boast a perfect blend of freshness and flavor. Additionally, their extensive vegetarian options cater to diverse palates, making it a must-visit for both seafood enthusiasts and those seeking a satisfying meatless alternative. The charming ambiance complements the delectable menu, creating a memorable dining affair.
Small, but nice, clean, and pleasant place. The staff was amazing. the service was phenomenal. The blueberry lemonade was amazing. Several local beers are on tap. We had the cheese curds and pretzel bites as appetizers. For lunch, we had the herbivore pizza. We did ask for light cheese, and it was not light. But that is my only thing that was not 100% satisfaction.
We had a great time here and the hard ciders we're delicious. The staff here was great too. They were out of the pickled wrinkles I guess they only get them at certain times we're here for a few days I'm going to call and see as they have them
Back to a previously reviewed spot and the food and service once again was just fantastic! I went with the special of the day, bacon cheeseburger sliders. I substituted tots for the fries and that was a Greta. Hoi e. The tots are crispy, tasty and worth the mention. This is my new go to spot anytime I visit Prospect Harbor and Gouldsboro!
We had pizza and a salad for dinner. The food was good and the place has a nice atmosphere. It seemed to be a pretty busy
evening and the wait time and service reflected that. But overall it is probably one of the better options for restaurants in the area.
The atmosphere, food, drinks, and service were all great. We got to try a Maine delicacy in Pickled Wrinkles! They also had neat souvenirs.
All the food had a really good flavor. There were 5 of us that dined at the Pickled Wrinkle. My wife and I shared the lower harbor pizza which had garlic provolone ham artichokes and barbecue sauce. It was REALLY good, and has a unique flavor. The blueberry lemonade was very refreshing.
I'm not from Maine, so perhaps I'm not familiar with the area residents normal "personality", but the server didn't seem very friendly, not rude or anything, just not what I am accustomed to in other parts of the country.
Definitely glad we stopped, though the food was delicious.
